Hearing the story of Etain gave me the thought of researching other myths about butterflies,& I discovered that in many of them this beautiful insect represents the human soul emerging from its mortal casing after death. I illustrated the stories in a series of etchings combined with cut out handpainted butterflies in a method called Chine Colle .The text is also a series of etchings printed onto Japanese paper & then pasted to the page. These are the prints which make up the hard back edition. Price £250
